Wanna go Macro! Join photographers and authors of "Wild in Arizona: Photographing Arizona's Wildflowers," Colleen Miniuk-Sperry and Paul Gill on exciting 2-day workshop aimed at improving your macro photography techniques while capturing stunning images of wildflowers in the Arizona desert.
Besides learning how best to control your camera's aperture, shutter speeds, and ISOs to record beautiful blooms, Colleen and Paul will also share special tips for making memorable photographs and overcoming challenges specific to close-up photography like dealing with the wind, using artificial backgrounds, and implementing the "Dutch tilt" for more dynamic compositions.
The location for the photo shoots will be decided prior to the start of the workshops based on best wildflower blooms in the Phoenix area. Our potential Saturday shooting locations may include Desert Botanical Gardens, Lake Pleasant Regional Park, Bartlett Lake, Hewitt Canyon, or Lost Dutchman State Park. On Sunday, we will spend the day at Boyce Thompson Arboretum practicing our Macro techniques on various wildflower species and other flora on the grounds.
